The Net Zero Strategies assessment framework for diversified mining: methodology note - version 1.0 outlines how the TPI Centre evaluates the credibility of diversified mining companies’ transition plans against global climate goals, including those set under the Paris Agreement.

The framework provides a sector‑specific approach to assessing net zero strategies, examining companies’ governance, emissions targets, capital allocation and production plans across different commodities. It uses publicly disclosed data and a structured set of indicators to assess the alignment and robustness of companies’ transition strategies across their business segments.

This 2026 methodology note represents the first dedicated TPI Centre net zero strategies methodology for diversified mining companies. The methodology enables investors to evaluate how mining companies are managing transition risks and contributing to the low‑carbon transition while supplying key materials for the global economy.
