Commenting on her appointment, Claire Meier said:

“ASCOR is the gold standard for how to think about sovereigns and their climate commitments, opportunities and risks. It has the capacity to be the fundamental tool for sovereigns themselves as well as investors. I’m excited to work with ASCOR partners across the investment and academic community and contribute to this next phase in the ASCOR’s development.”

Antonina Scheer, Policy Fellow and ASCOR Research Project Manager at the TPI Centre at LSE, said:

“As our research team continues to advance the ASCOR project, including regular country assessments and further refinement of the methodology, investor input is key to ensuring that the framework remains relevant. We are delighted to welcome Claire and are eager to collaborate closely with her to deliver the ASCOR tool effectively for the benefit of investors, sovereigns and other key stakeholders.”

Commenting on the next phase of ASCOR, David Russell, Chair of TPI Limited, said:

“As Chair of the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), I look forward to working closely with Claire. Claire will help to further build the profile of ASCOR amongst both investors and issuers, and her experience in sovereign investment is a welcome addition and will be key to advancing this impactful investor initiative supported by world leading academic insight at the TPI Centre at the LSE.”
