Today, the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre (TPI Centre) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is launching a consultation to gather user feedback on proposed methodological changes to its Management Quality framework. The framework evaluates the quality of corporate governance and strategy in managing greenhouse gas emissions and responding to the risks and opportunities of the low-carbon transition.

Consultation opens: 24 September 2026

Consultation closes: 22 October 2026

The TPI Centre at LSE is an independent source of rigorous research and assessments that are based on publicly available information disclosed by assessed entities. It is the academic partner of the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), an asset owner-led initiative supported by asset managers. Management Quality assessments are conducted by LSEG1 using the TPI Centre’s methodology.

Our methodologies are transparent and accessible via the TPI Centre website. They are reviewed and updated periodically to ensure they remain relevant as investor, policy and investee entity practices evolve. We run public consultations on proposed changes to gather stakeholder input when updates are material. The last update to the Management Quality framework occurred in November 2023 with the release of version 5.0.

To take part in this new consultation:

  1. Read the Management Quality framework v6.0 consultation report, which provides a description of proposed structural and methodological changes to the framework.
  2. Complete the consultation survey and submit your feedback by 22 October 2026.
